Aug 4rd – Lower your sodium intake today. Try garlic, ginger, herbs or spices for flavor instead.

According to the CDC, our bodies only need 180-500 mg a day.  The recommended amount is 1,500 mg.  The tolerable upper level is 2,300 mg/day.  The average American takes in 3,436 mg a day, attributing to our growing health problems in this country.  If you want to see more detailed information, go to:  http://www.cdc.gov/features/dssodium/

Today, try to cut down on the sodium.  Using garlic, ginger, herbs or spices is a great way to add flavor (and a bonus, additional nutrients), without the harm.

P.s.  I am back on track, sorry for the missed daily changes the past few days!
